Creations for Charity

$182 to Creations for Charity! Thank You!

We collected 15% of our profits from 1 July to 27 November 2023 which resulted in $182 for Creations for Charity. Overall, Creations for Charity raised $33,265 and donated sets to kids in 17 countries around the world. It was just shy of their 2021 record of $35,000, but still very impressive. You can see some of the results as the Beyond the Brick team helped to give away some of the sets purchased from the funds raised.

Thank you to everyone who supported Bricks for Bricks and allowed our continued giving!

Happy building!

New Giving Campaign - Creations for Charity - 1 July to 27 November 2023

Okay, this isn’t a new place, but the Creations for Charity drive needs our help. They had steadily increasing amounts raised in past years and then last year they saw a drop in donations. I’m not sure if 2021 was a fluke or what, but let’s make sure this year, they raise more than last year. So 15% of the profits from the Bricks for Bricks Bricklink store will go to Creations for Charity. We’ve supported them before and it’s time to do it again.

In case you aren’t familiar, Creations for Charity was formed in 2009 by AFOL Nannan Zhang. It started the first year with a few donations locally and has since skyrocketed to what it is today. The Beyond the Brick team is involved with their annual 24-hour live stream to raise funds.

So thank you for your support and we look forward to being able to help them give lots of LEGO sets to kids around the world.

Happy building!

Creations for Charity 2022 - Open Now - 15 October to 30 November

Our campaign for 2021 supported Creations for Charity and while this year we will give to another worthy cause, it doesn’t mean you can’t support more than one. The 2022 Creations for Charity drive started on 15 October 2022. You can see their start post here. If you don’t remember them or you’re new, you can check out what Creations for Charity is about here. Most importantly, you can visit their shop to purchase cool custom MOCs and minifigures. Last year they raised over $35,000 to give to kids at 15 different locations across 7 countries. It would be great to see them expand that further this year.

Also, it’s not too late to donate a MOC. There’s a link on the shop page if you want to do that.

If nothing in the shop looks enticing, you can donate cash as well through their PayPal link.

Lastly, stay tuned for the 24-hour live stream hosted by Beyond the Brick.

Happy building and thanks for giving!.

Biggest Give yet from Bricks for Bricks!

We were able to give $928 to Creations for Charity through our giving campaign that started in August and ended in November. Thanks to everyone who made purchases from our store so we could be so generous to a great cause!

According to the Creations for Charity site, this year they raised over $35,000! This is awesome! Thank you to everyone who donated whether it was through buying from the site, supporting the Beyond the Brick 24-Hour live stream, or making a purchase from Bricks for Bricks at our Bricklink.com store.

We will announce our next campaign soon. In the meantime, happy building!

Creations for Charity has Begun for 2021

Creations for Charity - 2021

15 October to 30 November 2021

I’m slightly late to the game, but the 2021 Creations for Charity drive started back on 15 October and runs through 30 November. You can read more about the drive this year and what Creations for Charity is by going to their website here.

15% of the profit from sales at the Bricks for Bricks (on BrickLink.com) store will get donated to Creations for Charity on 29 November. So if you don’t see anything you like at Creations for Charity’s site, but you do at the Bricks for Bricks store, you can still support.

Thanks for your willingness to give! Happy building!

Return to Giving -- Creations for Charity

After a few years living in Germany, we are back in the US and I finally had a chance to re-open the BrickLink store. There are some items that I “pulled from the vault” so they are now a little older and harder to find elsewhere. I will continue to add inventory over the next few weeks as I sort through it all. As sales come in (Thank You!), it’s time to announce our next giving campaign.

This one is a repeat, but the timing works out great. Creations for Charity was started in 2009 by Nannan Zhang. The goal was to have LEGO builders sell their creations and then use the funds from sales to donate LEGO sets to kids all around the world. In 2009 they raised around $3,000. In 2020 they raised $18,240 and donated sets in 6 different countries.

This year, I’d like to help them reach a new record. 15% of the profits from the Bricks for Bricks store on BrickLink.com will go to Creations for Charity. The annual Creations for Charity event runs from 15 October to 30 November so we will use sales from now through 29 November and then hit the donation button on 30 November.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to give! Happy Building!

Creations for Charity - 2020 Campaign is Now

I apologize for being late tot he game, but the 2020 Creations for Charity drive started on 15 October and runs through 30 November 2020. This is your chance to pick up some cool custom MOCs and minifigures with all of the money going to buy LEGO sets for disadvantaged kids. The charity is all volunteer run so you’re not giving a portion to pay someone’s salary or anything. If you want more details or want to participate, you can go to CreationsforCharity.org.

They also have a short video explaining the program posted below. Thanks for giving and happy building!

Give to Creations to Charity and Win a UCS Star Destroyer

Beyond the Brick is running a donation drive starting today (9 May 2020) and ending on 19 May 2020. The goal is to raise $2,000 and it looks like they will get there on day one. For every $5 given, you will get one chance to win a #75252-1: Imperial Star Destroyer. The set is not new. It is the version LEGO sent to Beyond the Brick for a set review. The Beyond the Brick gang has decided to give it away with a goal of raising money for Creations for Charity. If you have never heard of it, it is the following:

Creations for Charity is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that hosts an annual fundraising event from October to November where builders from all over the world donate custom LEGO creations to sell and raise money to buy LEGO sets for underprivileged children during the holidays.”

Here’s the YouTube.com video announcing the effort:

Here’s the link to the donation page if you want to go directly there.
